What is a Powder Brow?

Powder Pixel Brows (also known as Powder Brows,  Shaded Brows,  Mist Brows, Machine Brows or Ombre Brows) is a Permanent make-up procedure for eyebrow enhancement in which the artist inserts specialized pigments into the top layer of the skin with a tattoo machine using a dotting and shading technique, small pixels of colour are retained by the skin.

As a result, a powdery eyebrow effect is achieved, and misty, powdered brows are created.  The results can be more flexible and customisable than microblading and can be adjusted to insert a fade, ombre effect, and/or a sheer look to the brow

Are Powder brows Painful?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Technician begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a topical anesthetic during the procedure. Some clients may feel slight discomfort, but it’s relatively pain-free for most.
(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)

How Long is the appointment?

2.5 hours on average for your first appointment.  During your appointment, Janette will consult with you the entire time ensuring you are on the same page. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and agreeing on your perfect shape and colour. The actual procedure itself takes one hour. The touch-up appointment will take about an hour in total, depending on how much change if any is required.

Can we vary the intensity of my powder brow?

Yes, we can adjust your brow to be the intensity you prefer.  Janette recommends starting with a softer brow and adding more at the touch-up appointment if a darker look is required.  It is essential to note that the brow will fade about 40% compared to the colour on the day of the session.

How long does it last?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years to maintain shape, color, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:

- Skin type (oily skin fades faster)

- Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)

- Sun exposure (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment)

- Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo

Products and Equipment Health and Safety

To ensure the highest quality of safety, all of our tools are one-time use only. ALL blades, needles hand tools, wipes, and any other product used during the procedure are disposed of as biohazardous waste after each appointment, giving each client peace of mind.

How do we achieve the right shape for your Face?

Rest assured, you will have to love the shape before we do any permanent work.

Janette uses all the advanced tools such as golden ratio rulers, brow mapping alignment string, symmetry stickers, and even an app that double-checks everything before any permanent makeup is done.

Whilst Janette can recommend an ideal shape, she can also tweak and adjust your brows to be just how you want them.  Janette loves creating a classic brow that will stay timeless.
